Can thanks to Ashton McCobb. Pours clear mahogany to chestnut with a thin beige head. Aromas of woody spice, toffee and coffee. Quite boozy. Taste is more of the same. Not bad at all.

Can from the brewery shop. Appearance - a lovely damson plum colour, brown with shades of orange and red. Foamy, yellow white head. Nose - wood and booze. Honey and candied orange. Taste - wood, booze, dried orange again. Palate - full bodied, sweet then some drying tannins. Overall - good stuff.

Draught Very thick & dense, ultra-fine head, completely uniform over hazy red-amber beer, making full-banded lace. Nutty nose. Dense head seriously hampers nasal perception. Bit of chalk, dry malts. Very nutty flavour, almost aged/oxydized impression. Sweet, maltbomb, but also estery, fusels. Bit of chocolate. Finish has some fine bitterness, black cardamome, wood. Full bodied, but apart from the creamy textured from the indomitable head, it is not really thick. Viscous, yes, well-carbonated. No big fireworks, but a solid, slightly sweet Barley Wine. Nothing amiss with that.

Tap at Dois Corvos, Indentente, Lisbon, 12th December 23. Pours a creamy dark brown. Aroma is medicinal, coffee. Taste is odd, Coffee, sweet, Caramel and strange herbal notes. Not good for me
