Cask gravity at Croydon Craft 2016. It pours near black with a quickly dissipating beige head. The aroma is earthy, bitter - sweet, chocolate, caramel and liquorice. The taste is smooth, earthy roast, toasty, umami, malt loaf, liquorice with a dry, malty finish. Light - medium body and soft carbonation. Well - rounded and quaffable. Decent mild.

500ml bottle bought at Kjeller 5, Tromsø. Deep dark brown body colour under a slowly diminishing fawn-coloured head. Good lacework on the glass. A careful vanilla twist to roasted malty aroma. Flavours of dark dough, vanilla, and roasted malts followed by liquorice bitterness to the ending. Soft mouth feel. Rather thin on the swallow. Just a decent mild, I would say (12.02.2016).

Flaske 500ml fra Kjeller 5. Veldig mørk rubinrød. Egentlig svart. Middels høyt skum med litt farge. Daler raskt. Bra aroma av røstet malt. Smaken litt vanilje. Lite annet. Ble kjedelig

(Cask at Southampton Arms, Gospel Oak, London, 27 Nov 2014) Black colour with frothy, pale brown head. Malty, roasted nose with chocolate, cacao, milky coffee, dark bread and a touch of vanilla. Malty, roasted taste with notes of chocolate, coffee, cacao, dark bread and a gentle roasty bitterness in the finish. Light body, quite dry. Well balanced and tasty. Nice one.
