Review based on the BJCP2208 guidelines (style 18B). Bottle 33 cl - Batch L0012015. AROMA: mild sweet caramelized malt with slight cereal hull notes. spicy alcohol aroma. very faint esters and no hop aromas. APPEARANCE: ruby body with orange highlights and clear. medium ivory head and creamy, with medium retention. TASTE: mild sweet malty flavour with slight bready notes. cereal hull flavour. esters not discernible. low bitterness with a semi-dry finish and tannic (from cereal hull) aftertaste. PALATE: medium-low to low body. slight alcohol warmth. OVERALL: a good start that needs a bit of improvement on the complexity of aromas and flavours.
