Mahagoni, Ebenholz, ja fast schwarz – das Black IPA. „IPA“ = India Pale Ale, bezeichnet Biere, die zur Kolonialzeit mittels hohem Alkoholgehalt und extremer Hopfung so haltbar gemacht wurden, dass sie wochen-, ja sogar monatelange Über-fahrten in die fernen Kolonien des British-Empire, wie z.B. Indien überstehen mussten.

0.33 l bottle from ' Weinhandel Häckel', best before October 2022. Clear, dark ruby with a medium large, frothy, stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, fairly fruity-resiny, slightly roasty aroma of dark chocolate, lots of tropical fruits, some blueberry and a touch of pine. Gently sweet, malty, moderately roasty, fairly fruity-resiny taste of dark chocolate, licorice, tropical fruits, some blueberry and light pine, followed by a medium long, quite roasty-bitter, a bit resiny finish. Medium to full body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Very tasty and well-balanced BIPA, really good!
