Gerijpt in houten vaten van de Terschellingse distilleerderij The Isle of Schylge. Zes maanden lang lag deze mooie Imperial stout in Saint Brandarius vaten. Subtiele honingsmaken vormen de boventoon met een lichte rook erdoor vermengt.

Kees #300. 0.75 l bottle from 'Mr. Hop', best before December 2028. Black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, light brown head. Sweetish-malty, quite roasty, a bit fruity aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, roasted hazelnut, whisky, some dark fruits and a touch of vanilla. Quite sweet, malty, fairly roasty, a bit fruity taste of dark chocolate, hard roasted coffee, light ash, vanilla, whisky, roasted hazelnut, some dark fruits and a touch of peat, followed by a medium long, fairly roasty-bitter, a bit woody, slightly boozy finish. Full body, very smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Delicious and intense stout, very pleasant flavours derive from the whisky. Good!

Bottle at nicks. Pours black, nose is woody, smoky, caramel, chocolate, taste is similar, a little salty, quite boozy. --- Beer merged from original tick of Saint Brandarius Barrel Aged on 28 Aug 2023 at 12:40 - Score: 8
