Jaanihanso's tribute to Asturian Sidra. This organic cider is completely dry, unfiltered, unpasteurized, and bottle conditioned for a mild natural carbonation. Hand crafted from cold pressed organic Estonian apple juice. The main apple variety used is Antonovka. Earthy flavors and apple tartness are enhanced by almost eight months of fermentation and maturation on lees. This is the purest version of natural Estonian cider.

33cl bottle from Rimi, Tallinn. Pours hazy straw coloured without much head to speak of. Funky and fruity with ripe apples and barnyard notes. Dry, funky and acidic. Quite refreshing.

Wow Asturian cider. Staff even poured it from a height to capture the yeast. Cloudy. Tart. Fruity. Vinous. Tannic. Dry. Good stuff.

Tasting @ Tim's. Pours cloudy yellow, not much carbonation there. Nose is full of barnyard funk, dry and cheesy. Some apple peels. Taste is also quite dry, lots of barnyard funk there as well, sweaty horseblanket. Body feels thin and not too tart, easily drinkable. Dry lightly bitter linger, bitter apple peel. Quite liking it.

Funky, barnyard, dry nose with a touch of oak. Thin, barnyards mouth with modest tannins. Mouth falls off a bit because it’s so dry. Lingering oak and apple finish.

Bottle (thanks marduk). Pale yellow. Aroma is apples, some sourness. Flavor is sour, sweet, apples. Body is watery, carbonation is low. Overall: not offending, but rather bad. I actually like still ciders, but this doesn’t have enough character to be enjoyable. It has the typical Jaanihanso flavors, but they doesn’t work in still cider. Not sure how much similarity there is to actual Asturian stuff, but I suspect not much.
