11/4/2018. Bottle from Beautiful Beers, Bury St Edmunds. Pours very slightly hazy dark amber with an average sized short lasting off-white to beige head. Aroma of malt, hop, dark fruits, hint of chocolate and sweet toffee. Moderate sweetness, medium plus bitterness more than in a typical altbier. Full bodied, slight oily texture, soft carbonation.

Bottle. Pours clear dark brown with large white head. Aroma is autumn leaves, wet earth, roasted chestnut and freshly baked rye bread. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter. Body is milky with fizzy carbonation. Finish is long and medium bitter with notes of rye bread, caramel, malt drops, gravy and hints of licorice root and vanilla. Well balanced and rich

750ml corked and caged bottle. Pours a hazy deep red-mahogany with a large, frothy, long lasting, tan head that laces nicely. Sweet aroma of toasted malt, bread, caramel, dried fruit, orange peel, earth and floral hops. Sweet flavour of toasted biscuit malt, caramel, toffee, dried fruit, orange peel, spices and earth with a dry, bitter, floral hop finish. Medium body with a sticky texture and soft carbonation. An excellent Altbier.

Kicsi, tartós hab, sötét vörösréz szín, szűrt. Virágos, enyhén citrusos illat. Íze virágos, malátás, kissé fűszeres és lágeres. Könnyű, enyhén szénsavas, közepesen keserű. Nagyon jól sikerült láger.

Bottle from Beautiful Beers, Bury St Edmunds. Drunk at home. Caramel brown, clear with a ring of off-white head. Toffee, sticky malt, and peanuts in the aroma with a bit of TCP. It's sweet but not overpoweringly so: there's an earthy hop balance in the latter half of the sip that lingers through to the caramelly, spicy aftertaste. Notes of fresh dates as the fallout disappears. A tough style to bring off at times but I enjoyed this.

Bottle, 341 ml at Svijet Piva. shared with JFK10000 and others. Pours dark orange to brown with medium white head. Malty, caramel, some dried fruit, grainy. Light to moderate sweetness. Soft carbonation. Medium bodied. Not my favorite style, but not bad at all.

Very interesting beer. Aroma’s tobacco, dark ripe fruit and dark malt. Flavors like nose, slightly fruity sweet up front followed by some Carbonic tang and a long bitter finish.

17th Jan 2017. Surprised and pleased to find this on the shelves at Flor de Llupol in Barcelona: a cold one from the fridge (375ml bottle) and I duly drank it. Ruby hue to the red/brown body, the head a beige affair. Malty, caramel front with some fruitiness later: semi-sweet and very easy to drink: liked it.
