Did you know that most hot sauces are aged in oak barrels? We have been lucky enough to get a hold of some bourbon barrels which have previously been used by a well-known hot sauce producer. We added our rich tropical stout to the barrels which resulted in a hot blend we’ve named Texas Tempest.

YG 090824. Black color with a tan head. Aroma is rooasted malt, chili, alcohol. Flavor is chili, chocolate, coffee, cocoa, roasted malt, dried fruit, toffee, spices, bourbon. Very nice beer.

Flarra på stor ölprovning vid havet . Doftar lovande av bourbon. Här kommer choklad med bourbon en sekund sen kommer en rätt rejäl värme i munnen . Finns en kort stund även nån spännande fruktighet. Spännande men väl stark öl .

Black with a small disappearing head. Aroma is soy sauce, sweet licorice and char coal. Flavour is a bit sweet. There's sweet licorice, dry oak casks Bourbon .....and loads of hot chili; it burns your tounge and tickels your nostrils. Kinda fun in a peculiar way.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Black with a small tan head. Roasted malt, oak, dark chocolate, licorice and some chili heat. Full body and with warming alcohol. A sipper.

Bottle. An almost black one, with a light tan head. Quite gentle aroma at first, but it soon reveals cocoa, caramel, roasted malts and a delicious coffee touch. Not much chili to detect, but there's a good warmth in the mouth. Sweet, full bodied and softly carbonated, with flavors of cocoa, dark chocolate, toffee, brown sugar and some dark dried fruit, licorice, alcohol and a spiced touch. Lasting finish with a good chili burn. Delicious. 240809

A black beer, a head is quite small and dark beige. Aroma has sweet maltyness, liquorice, some fruitness. Taste has liquorice, richness of malts, burning chili, light fruitness. Full bodied, but not stickyness. Too hot to my taste. But there is potential.

300ml draught at BrewYard Brewpub, shared with Finn. Pitch black in the glass, tiny ring to the rim of the surface, naked surface. Attractive aromas of oaky chocolate malts, some spices to it. Well spiced flavours added by oak, chocolate, and ripe fruits. Lingering spiced malty end, lightly roasted. Warming, full bodied and heavy to drink. Lasting sipper qualities. Over the top, perhaps.
