Did you know that most hot sauces are aged in oak barrels? We have been lucky enough to get a hold of some bourbon barrels which have previously been used by a well-known hot sauce producer. We added our rich tropical stout to the barrels which resulted in a hot blend we’ve named Texas Tempest.

A classic stout aged in oak barrels that used to hold hot sauce. Exactly as expected, not overpowering at all. So much for "Go big or go home." 😉

--Bottled, from Systembolaget. -- Black, small brown head. Aroma of chocolate and vanilla. Sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Chocolate and molasses, bourbon vanilla. Chilli burn starts to set in late, but grows uncomfortably hot in afinish where alcohol adds a burning element.

A very dark brown beer, no head. Aroma of strong dark caramelized malt, Bourbon. Taste of sweet and strong dark malt, toffee, bourbon, boozy finish.

Clear to little cloudy brown beer, no head. Aroma: roasted, sweet, some caramel, alcohol, lots of chocolate, pretty oxidized. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: oh my, lots of chilli, good roast, alcohol, a bit sourish, more chillies. Aftertaste: very roasted, lots of alcohol, more alcohol, roasted, bitter.
