We've taken the malt bill from our Northern Porter and bolstered it with an addition of some chocolate malt to make a big full bodied, darker porter which we've then hit with a blend of American 'C' hops to reinforce that complex malt bill with fresh piney notes. Not quite as pronounced as a Black IPA, expect the malt character to be more dominant than the hops but the fresh citrus and grassy notes really lift a deeper darker beer.

Half-pint, draught, shared with Finn at Smithfield Market Tavern (Blackjack). Good looking in the glass with its coal black body, stable beige head, and spotty lacing. Attractive aromas of smoothly roasted dark malts, earthy. Fine balanced taste of ripe citrus and chocolate malts, nicely roasted. Quite long tail with a malt-hoppy twist. Fine depth to it.
