Cask ale, half-pint, shared with Finn at Bridge Hotel. Clear mahogany coloured body, filmy beige head, clingy lacing. Toffee and bread-like malts on the nose, promising. Caramel and toffee to the taste character together with a bite of dark fruits. Fair bittersweet tail. Easy to drink. Pretty good. (Newcastle upon Tyne, 18.03.2024).

440ml can as part of a delivery from Northumbrian Gifts and drunk at home. Light reddish-brown, mostly clear with a massive loose off-white head. Earth, wood, red berry, light turps, strong iced tea in the aroma. Bittersweet taste with a lovely woody funk, gentle chalky bitterness in the rounded finish. Medium body with slightly heavy carbonation. A gorgeous bitter.

Can from Northumbrian Gifts. Pours clear copper with a thin white head. Aromas of toffee and marmalade. Taste is more of the same. Light nutty sweet finish.
