This Belgian-style pale ale is our vision for a light, flavorful, refreshing, and lower alcohol Belgian-style ale. We use the addition of coriander seeds and two different kinds of orange peel to add complex citrus notes to the spicy fermentation character of our house Belgian yeast.

Clear golden colour. Aroma and flavour do have that typical sweet, spicy Belgian yeast identity. There’s also a touch of orange citrus and banana too. A good effort but it lacks a bit of body.

Draught @ CBC 2016 [ Yellow Session ]. - Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2016, Oksnehallen Vesterbro, Halmtorvet 11, 1700 Copenhagen, Denmark. [ As AleSmith Lil Devil ].Clear medium yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, fruity malt, moderate yeasty, belgium yeast, fruity yeast, vegetable - floral notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, belgium yeast, fruity yeast, fruity malt, pale malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20160513]

slightly opalescent golden colour, moderate sized, dense white head; aroma of bread, Belgian yeast, some coriander and spices; taste is the same with slight sourish notes; quite good ale, though, of course not the best AleSmith beer I’ve tried

Bottle, courtesy of SinH4. Lots of coriander and orange peel indeed, over a usual but rather mellow candy sweetness. Citric. Light body with a crisp carbonation, highly refreshing and easy to drink.

New Beer Distributors, NYC bottle: pours copperish with a white head. Aroma is banana, some other fruit, yeast, and spice. Taste is somewhat sweet, but nicely balanced. Spicy. Quite creamy. Pretty nice.

Bottle from Market St., Wine shop uptown. Pours golden with a lot of carbonation coming up from the bottom. Aroma of bubblegum, banana, spice. Taste is similar, but with the addition of yeast, and grass. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle. Wow. This is the first American Belgian Pale Ale I’ve had that tastes remotely like a Belgian Pale Ale aka De Koninck. Pleasant, doughy medium body. Light caramel notes. Subdued hop and yeast notes. This is really quite an excellent beer. Well done.

Bottle from AEON Liquors in Koenji. Pours a clear golden orange with a small head that dissipates fairly quickly. Light orange notes with big, bubblegum and sugar notes that takeover. Sweet on the palate with a yeasty pepperiness that lingers. Well-carbonated. Kinda cloyingly sweet to be honest. Honey and candy sugar. Finish has more pepper and spice and a lingering sweetness.
