This Belgian-style pale ale is our vision for a light, flavorful, refreshing, and lower alcohol Belgian-style ale. We use the addition of coriander seeds and two different kinds of orange peel to add complex citrus notes to the spicy fermentation character of our house Belgian yeast.

Bottle pour into shaker pint glass from Greg & Jane’s Beer and Wine. Appearance is lightly hazy yellow-orange with nice sparkle, finger-width fizzy/foamy white crackling head with fair retention and no lacing. Aroma is Belgian fruit with clove, citrus, coriander, orange peel. Taste is like the aroma. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with slippery texture, average carbonation and dry finish like taste. Overall, a nice representative of the style. Solid, if not spectacular, in all areas.

Bottle: Golden, hazy, visible carbonation, smaller and stable white foamy layer; some citrussy-fruity "belgian" aromas (maybe coriander, too) in the mainly dry herbal-floral hoppy nose; moderate dryish , but not completely dry, bitter-sweet flavour, barely medium bodied; lingering bitter-sweet fruity and piney-hoppy finish with a certain acidity plus traces of coriander. A nice session brew, but no reason to get excited...

Pours a slightly hazy golden, topped with a medium sized white head, disappearing immediately. Mild nose with some yeasty feel and fruity notes in the back. Taste medium sweet, malty with some hints of sourness. Very gentle bittery presence that gains a bit in strength later. Sparkly and light body. Not a bad one.

Bottle. Slightly hazy blonde with a white head that doesn’t last. 3- Aroma of dough, oranges, coriander, white pepper. Looks a bit flat, but carbonation is pleasantly on the high side of medium here, whilst the body is on the light side of medium. Both work well. Not all that sweet with actual spices and citrus melding well with what the yeast presumably provides. It’s nothing special but it all works well together.

Bottle. House of Trembling Madness, York. Clear gold. White head recedes to a ring. Nose has honeyed malts. Caramel biscuit. Notes of ripe banana and clove. Taste is biscuity, honey sweet. Some dryness. Light esters. Decent mouthfeel, with a smooth, rich quality. Estery dry finish.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a vibrant dark golden color with an enormous foamy orange-white head that lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was muksty and dusty with floral hops and a bit of citrus. The flavor was musty, dusty, bitter and yeasty with floral and perfumey hops. Medium length finish. Medium body. Decent.
