it is our Saison van de Bruwer getting a makeover and becoming BRETT SAISON! Same recipe, still organic, and with the same personality marked by our Brettanomyces yeast.
As a reminder, it is a Spelt Saison, dry-hopped and fermented with added Brettanomyces. Blond, opalescent, aromatic and fruity, with a 'funky' touch typical of Brettanomyces, notes of cereals (especially spelt), a floral touch, and a final that evokes lime zests. Its attack is mellow, but its finish is dry and bitter.

Soft creamy and lovely. Bit of berry fruitiness. Second time at the end of the year, Brett is in the ascendency. Lovey easy drinking. Great graininess. Little tart. Very nice.

Milder rezent. Sehr langer, mächtig bitterer Nachtrunk. - Sehr reizvolles Saison, trotz wuchtiger Bittere und prägnanter Altersnote rund und süffig. Guter Apéritif. (14.1.2024.)

Hazy yellow pour with a lasting white head. Aromas of yeat, pineapple and other yellow fruit. Taste is mango, pineapple at first, the grapefruit (citrus) and a hint of earl grey tea. Dry finish indeed. Not bad at all.

330 ml bottle. Cloudy yeasty yellow with a fluffy head. Lots of funk, barnyard, fermented hay, bergamot, grapefruit zest, grain, orange zest, some lactose. Dry funky zesty bitterness, some light grainy sweetness. Medium bodied, oily milky texture, lively carbonated, dry zesty hoppy bitter funky finish. A great Saison.

Drunk after a full Caddy load to the Uha Wertstoffhof, they are the most picky low-paid workers I've ever seen. They want to inspect the composition of every tiny item you throw away, I'm surprised they don't have a mass spectrometer on site. Two of them argued amongst themselves whether my old rollos were aluminum or plastic (Alu with foam inside; I bought them so I should know). The beer... Finally... Is light straw colored with slight haze and delicate lacy head. Funky farmhouse sour notes detectable half a meter away. The flavor is citrusy dried horse sweat, really complex, quite delicious to those of us whose taste buds are certifiably insane. Very nice smooth bitterness, up there with an IPA. Really an excellent Saison!

330ml bottle. Cloudy, yellow-ish, bright golden colour with average to huge, frothy, slowly osteoporosing, minimally lacing, white head. Bretty, funky and yeasty fruity aroma, mild bretty notes with Hubba Bubba bubblegum and long drop aspects, underlying fruity hints of apricot, mirabelle, quince. Taste is dry, mildly funky, slightly bitter hoppy and yeasty fruity, hints of brett, a touch of pepper, minimally diluted hints apricot, mirabelle, quince; slightly more funky finish. Watery texture, dry palate, medium, prickly carbonation. Mild funkiness, very refreshing - good!
