330ml bottle, #592, from djoeye, many thanks. Firm and stable, bubbly, fawn-coloured head leaving fair lacing on the glassware. A deep rustic tint to a very dark coloured body. Pleasant aroma of dark chocolate malts nicely balanced by piny hops. Well blended malt-fruity taste of grainy malts, liquorice, coffee, ash, pine and leafy hops. Roasted, well even burnt, bitterness to the ending. A little thin on the swallow. A clean and well-made beer (relaxing at home on a Friday eve, Tromsø 21.11.2014).

Flaske 330ml fra Alko Muonio. Dyp mørkebrun. Høyt luftig skum med litt filigranser. God aroma av røstet malt. Smaken litt metallisk med hint av kaffe. Syrlig bitter ettersmak. Avslutter tørt.

Smell of roasted malt. Dark brown colour, medium beige head. Aroma of ash, licorice, roasted malt. Flat but semi-plentiful carbon. Bitter. Ashy dry palate. Much better than the generic schwarz. Definitely to be recommended.

A cola black beer with a weak and beige head. The nose is roasted and slightly chocolate, also strong hoppynes with pine and slightly citrucy notes. Taste is roasted, some pine needles, nice bitterness, slightly short taste. Herbal and slightly tight end. Medium- bodied, easy. Good elements that gives some expectations but overally not so good.

(Keg at Black Door, 20140226) The beer poured clear and almost black. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had roasted malts and liquorice. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were grass, liquorice, roasted malts, sweetness and bitterness. Afteraste was sweet and bitter. A suprisingly good brew but the flavour was a bit too unbalanced.

Dark nut brown color, steady small beige head. Licorice, malts, tobacco and hints of hops in the nose. Medium-bodied. Ashy, toasted maltyness, hints of licorice. Also a bit of toffee and hops. Interesting flavors. Good despite of ashy notes.

Draught @ Villi Wäinö, Helsinki
Pours pitch black with a smooth white head. Aroma of floral hops, mild roastiness, grass and ash. Taste is smooth, slightly roasty and ashy with loads of floral and grassy hops, fruits and mild coffee notes. Finish is juicy hoppy, slightly roasty and floral with notes of grass and coffee. Quite nicely hopped and balanced, although a bit thin bodied. Tasty and quaffable.
