Finch Beer Co. in Chicago, Illinois, United States 🇺🇸
IPA - Imperial / Double Regular|

An American style imperial IPA brewed with Citra, Simcoe, Columbus, Cascade and Mosaic hops. Hardcore Chimera is then dry hopped with over a pound of hops per BBL. Ringing in with over 80 IBU’s, Hardcore Chimera’s intense aroma and flavor of passion fruit and citrus is balanced out against a hearty grain bill that lends to the beer’s deceptively drinkable 9% ABV.

Can (1 pint, Beer Hunters). Amber color, good creamy white head. Riped fruits, citrus, grass and pineapple. Medium-bodied. Overriped fruits, citrus. Lingering citrus in the aftertaste. Feels not the freshiest.

One Pint Pub, Helsinki. Can. Almost clear amber beer, tidy cream colour head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, good fine carbonation. Smooth malts, light caramel. Hops are piney spicy with lesser touches of orange and marmalade. Tangerine emerges before a light semi dry and hop spicy finish. A good DIPA but not turning cartwheels, could be brighter.

473ml can from Alko. BBE 27.03.2016. Pours orange with a thick foamy head. Aroma of caramely malts, grass, chewy pine, toffee, citrus, hints of herbal notes, grapefruit and lemon. Taste is herbal hoppy, grassy, citrusy and caramely malty with some fruits, pine and resin. Finish is sweetish, resinous hoppy and piney with some caramely maltiness, citrus and grass. Okay, not super fresh but still a pretty nice malty DIPA.

(Can, 0.473 l - batch? #891 - imbibe by 03/27/16, from Alko, 20160311) The beer poured deep amber and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness and pine. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were pine, grass, sweetness, malts, herbalness and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy, boozy and bitter. Too boozy.

very hazy dark orange a small head that is very resilient. the aroma is a pine bomb with a little astringency. Nice force-carbed mouthfeel. very piney, like resinous bomb with a sweetness at middle to finish.

Can at America on Tap Light golden color with a bubbly white head. Sweet rich caramel and bready maltiness generally overpowers the flavor and aromas from the hops. Not horrible, but needs some dryness.

Location: 16 oz can from Winooski Beverage, 7/31/15, #125 of July 2015, I guess the last one wasn't my last beer of the month...
Aroma: The nose is fairly hoppy, dank and resiny, pine, and some tropical hops as well
Appearance: It pours an orange color with a thin off-white head and some fairly drippy lacing
Flavor: The flavor is fairly bitter as well, a little fruity, but leans more resiny / hoppy taste-wise
Palate: It is medium-plus bodied, quite smooth and clean, with a soft carbonation, and a dry close
Overall Impression: I was actually pretty impressed by this beer. I had mixed feeling, as I wasn't expecting a ton from these guys. My other Finch's beers haven't been super amazing, but this one is quite nice.
