We have our second fig beer to release. In 2020 we brewed an amber ale with figs and fig leaves. For 2021 we went with a big English Barleywine and used only fig leaves added in the fermenter. The beer was brewed in June. The leaves. We then put the bottles and kegs in our old rice storage house to age and smooth out the rough edges.
The beer has big notes of caramel and toffee that blend in with the fig. The figs are both fruity and spicy with cinnamon, coconut and vanilla flavors. We think it is great right now but feel free to take some bottles and age them for years …

Quite different from the 2021. Very easy drinking. Fruity but doesn’t feel as dangerous as the previous one did.

Maple syrup. Danger. Lovely stuff. Light spice and bitterness but full on maple syrup loveliness. Golden biscuit. What does that even mean? It’s amazing.

muddy brown color. No head. Fantastic depth, fig, coconut, vanilla toffee and cinnamon dominate, modestly sweet. Excellent depth in the nose. Semi sweet, low carbonation and I actually got some fig in my teeth. The nose basically repeats on the palate
