The Cappucino of beers. Roasty, smooth and sweet.
Samuel Adams® Cream Stout is a true cream stout, balancing body and sweetness with the natural spiciness of grain and hand selected English hops. Our Brewers use generous portions of roasted chocolate and caramel malts as well as unroasted barley to impart a fullness of body, a roasty malt character and rich, creamy head. Its dark mahogany color make it almost as easy on the eyes as it is on the palate.

Bottle. Coffee and chocolate malt aroma. Dark brown with moderate head and nice lacing. Very nice chocolate and caramel flavors - very much like a Riesen - strong malty finish with just a hint of hops. Palate on the light side. A great tasting beer.

Bottle. Dark brown / black color with a average frothy good lacing mostly lasting light brown head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. A bit borring with no big personality, but okay balance just a little industrial !

12 oz bottle. Pours deep brown with an amber hue. Creamy light brown head. Sweet, dark, roasted and malty aroma. Lovely coffee notes in the flavour. Sweet without being too much. Coffee goes into a more mellow toffee flavour lingering long finish with bitterness added.

I was sort of expecting something different from this beer, but what I got wasn’t too bad anyway. Looked all dark with a standard brown head. Smelled quite alright. Taste was more bitter and less sweet than I expected, but still had some chocolate and coffee qaulities, but not in the way that I usually expect them. Worth a drink or two.

Poured dark dark brown with light brown head. Pretty nice aroma of chocolate malts, roasted malts, coffee and hints of vanilla. Fairly thin body with coffee, burnt malts, chocolate malts and light notes of vanilla flavors. Ends with a nice coffee and black patent malt taste.

Poures black with a nice tan head. The sweet aroma of roasted malts and chocolate strikes first followed by yeast and dark fruits. The flavor is of roasted malts and coffee. Has a bittersweet, almost tart bite that I wasn’t expecting. Finish is long and bitter. The mouth is creamy with nice carbonation. A fairly decent stout that I wouldn’t mind having again.

I have not had this beer for about 8 years until tonight. Back then it was a fairly regular choice for me - but somewhere along the line I moved away from it. Now that my beer experience has grown I came in to this one with some trepidation. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this brew poured thin black with a large dark brown head. The aroma is fairly faint but has elements of roasty and sour malts with a hint of coffee. The flavor is roasty and bitter with light coffee undertones. The finish is long and quite bitter. The mouthfeel is a bit thin and watery. The beer is slightly odd as it tastes neither sweet nor dry to me. Certainly drinkable but there are so many better stouts out there.
