Autumn. It is still dark when you go for a walk with the dogs. You can see your breath, and the ice, covering the puddles, shatters like a breaking glass under your steps. The sun peeks cautiously with its first rays and the dogs investigate, nose between frosty blades of grass, the nighttime activities of a fox. The oak clings stubbornly to its brown leaves, but the Jays have already hidden the acorns. The weather is already cold. The cold starts.

Lehe’s Autumn is a classic smoked beer, which is brewed with malt, smoked here in Estonia, and is intended for all those, who love our colorful autumn filled with the smell of campfire, to enjoy.

33cl bottle from SIP veini- ja õllepood, Tallinn. Pours slightly hazy deep amber to copper coloured with an off-white head. Mild smoky aroma with malty notes, caramel and hints of dark fruits and vanilla. Medium sweet with nice and mild bonfire flavour and a fairly balanced bitterness. Easy to drink and quite tasty.

33cl bottle @home. Pours mahogany color with a thin white head. Smoke, tar, smoked ham in aroma. Tar candy, smoke and malts in flavor, some berries as well. Lacks body and depth but the smoke feels authentic.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BB 17.03.16, at Drink Baar, 20150927) The beer poured ruby red and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had smoke, smoked ham, grilled sausage and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were smoke, sweetness, smoked ham, grass and low bitterness. Afteraste was smoky, sweet and bitter. A nice smoky brew. The finish a bit harsh.

Bottle, batch 1 (from Drink Shop). Pours copper with beige head. The head stays for a moment. Aroma is smoke, ham, malt, slight manure. Flavor is sweet, bitter, caramel, malt, corn, smoke. Body is watery. Overall: flavor is mostly just caramel-corn water and big let down after the lovely smokey nose.
