Sampled from the tap at Beer Grotto A2. Pours black with a dark brown head that dissipates quickly and nearly completely. Aroma has strong dark grains and roasted malts with sine bourbon, chocolate and a nice salted caramel coming through. Flavor has salted caramel and dark grains with with roast, bourbon and chocolate and a touch of roast supporting.

2023 bottle from Livonia Liquor. Pours a viscous pitch black with a finger of brown head that dissipates quickly. Lots of rye whiskey and maple on the nose with vanilla, milk chocolate and caramel aromas. Thick on the palate with more of the same flavors. A touch of pillowy marshmallow mixed with caramel, rye whiskey and maple again. Sweet with a lingering peppery rye finish that lingers. Warming barrel character throughout. Leans on the sweet side.

Panda thanks to Cloin. Almost opaque dark brown beer, very short tan head. Smooth and slightly viscous palate, good fine carbonation. Rich dark chocolate malts, a little Mars Bar. Caramel chocolate into rich Bourbon soaked ripe fruits. Mild alcohol spice on the finish. Does show a little alcoholic spice but nowhere near 15% worth. A rich and rewarding Impy with a sublimely well delivered booziness. Huzzah!

Bottle at home, from Bier Cab Barcelona, 06/05/24. Pitch black with a fast escaping dirty tan head. Nose is dark malts, ripe bourbon nose punch, fruit cake mix, brown sugar melt, toffee, chocolate, molasses. Taste comprises dates, figs, chocolate melt, molasses, bourbon veined, toasted brown sugars, toffee, dark malts, light spice balance. Full bodied, oily feel, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Solid well balanced BA impy ... great bourbon smack allied to easy drinkabilty for the stated 15%.
