Small, if persistent just off-white head, dense, over finely carbonated veiled copper-amber beer. Stroopwafels with kaneel, sorry, cinnamon. Vanilla. This smells as it is named. Though the taste is less outspoken, still quite a lot of cinnamon retronasal. A bit of oxydized metal, in an acceptable way. And of course, stroopwafels (*). Quite well-bodied, very slick to oily, viscous. Bit of alcoholwarmth; chewy. For such a sweet uppercut, quite palatable, I must say. (*) Our northern neighbours are so proud of their stroopwafels. If you really want to know what that can be, try lackmans in Belgium... Txs to Stef!

0.33 l bottle from 'HEMA' (Zutphen), best before December 2026. Hazy, deep amber with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, minimally fruity and a little boozy aroma of caramel, cinnamon, anise, raisins and almond. Quite sweet, malty, moderately bitter, slightly fruity taste of caramel, almond, raisins, cinnamon, anise and light clove, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, gently boozy finish. Medium to full body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Quite okay, much more boozy than expected though. A typical product of modern De Molen, embodying all of the stupid developments craft beer has gone through.

Flesje gekregen van Tomhendriksen en thuis gedronken. Amberkleurig helder bier met matig schuim dat als een film blijft liggen. Aroma van stroop, vanille en karamel. De smaak van de stroopwafel is (te) sterk aanwezig. Nasmaak is kruidig.

Fles gekregen van LiekevdV en SandervdL, thuis geprobeerd. Het is een helder bruin bier met een volle schuimkraag. Het heeft een aroma van vanille, caramel en kaneel. De smaak is vol caramel en cookie achtig. Verrassend goed gelukt.
