British Summer Ale
Our take on a British Summer Ale! We used our usual house English strain, but rather than load up on intense tropical hops we added just a touch of earthy-floral-herbal Goldings from America and orange-marmalade-tinged East Kent Goldings from England. For grain, we used a blend of two classic English pale ale malts, Golden Promise and Maris Otter to create a slightly biscuity fullness.
Batch #1 7/20 (Draft/Crowlers) - 5% ABV
Batch #2 5/21 (Draft/Cans) - 4.8% ABV
Batch #3 6/22 - 5% ABV
Batch #4 4/23 - 5% ABV
Batch #5 6/24 - 5% ABV

Can (5/12/26) shared by CLW--thanks, Chris! Hazy bright golden yellow, no head or lacing. Aroma is strong, sweet and slightly tart fruit, biscuit, mild caramel. Taste is biscuit malt forward, more subtle sweet/tart fruit, suggestion of weak caramel. Smooth texture, soft carbonation, dry, biscuity finish. Enjoyed the aroma more than the flavor. Good strength.

Pours a bright hazy yellow / gold with thin off white head that dies out fast. The aroma is bready malt and yeast. Very soft milled grain. Muted fruit. Medium body, toasted malt, light bitterness, dry finish, good for the style.

16oz can from Tavour. Foggy golden pour, head dwindles away to nothing. Aroma is honey, caramel, fruity, kind of a weird blend. Taste is malty, caramel, sweet, earthy. Creamy feel. I wasn't sure what I felt about it at first, but it grows on me with each sip. Still kind fo confusing though,
