To catch a bit of soft radiance in each bottle, we wait for fall colors to begin their bright and fleeting glow before brewing this wonderful ale under their autumn fire. Gentle amber malt blends with smooth caramel notes, gently lapping against a distant shore of forgotten spice.

A beer to sip, to contemplate, to enjoy!

Cheers & Mahalo plenty!

Sampled from a 0.75l bottle @ RBNG 2014. Bottle says "#Blend 2" This is a cloudy orange golden looking one. A little but really seriously lacing white head on top of it. Smells classic wood-sour Jolly this. Could of course be psychological, but I get that spot on same aroma in almost every beer I've had from Jolly. A little brett woodiness with soft lemons and gooseberries. Smells really inviting and nice. Lots of flavor! Quite brett infused with sour pickled lemons, some wood also but it's definitely not wood dry. Yeasty and what you could call sunny flavors. Quite a nice one. 15.02.2014

Sampled from a big bottle. Amber-gold body, fine lacing from a fair white head. Tart and sweet aromas, mix of caramel and red berries. More of the same to the taste buds; Almond, leafy hops, caramel, and tart red berries. Dry, tart and a bit spicy to the ending. Aright, but really not my kind of beer (Grand Tasting, RBNG, Halden 15.02.2014).

Bottle bought @ bierkompass.de. Pours slightly hazy deep golden with a frothy white head that slowly dissipates while leaving a small trace on the glass. Smell is vinous and funky with dark bread, hay, dark grapes, plums, moist wood, leather, lemon juice, chestnuts, moist soil, nutmeg and lemon zest. Taste is sour, vinous, funky and slightly fruity with biscuits, dark bread, lemon juice, grape juice, hay, moist wood, leather, horse blanket, lemon zest, plums, apple cider vinegar, toasted hazelnuts, chestnuts, cinnamon, nutmeg and hints of yams. Mouthfeel is tart, dry, tiny crisp and light to medium bodied. Finish is sour with dark bread, lemon juice, grape juice, hay, lemon zest, horse blanket, leather, barnyard, moist wood, soil, nutmeg and hints of chestnuts. Solid JP funky vinous goodness. Will never get tired of that.

Bottle, 75cl. A dense, two-finger off-white head forms over a clear dark golden body. Pleasant aroma with fruity sourness, a spiced touch and some malty notes too. It’s medium to full-bodied and with a nice carbonation level. The flavor has the same sourness, spices and a little maltyness. Pretty annoying spiced touch, I can’t recognize it, but there’s some allspice and herbal notes. Woody hints too. Seems very simple at first, but it’s really nice and tasteful. Sure a beer I could have again. And again. 140111
