The pioneers of the haze-craze came crashing out from the cloudy winter months of New England to sweep the nation with a new take on IPA. They no longer needed to be bitter, dank, and piney! Arguing for another way of wrangling hops to promote fruity, floral, and otherwise fantastic flavors, the New England (or hazy) IPA is all of those things, but with only a slight bitterness and dryness to round out the riot of hop flavor present in these beers. What started out as a Cloudy Curiosity is now certainly a style that will stick around.
