A traditional Doppelbock fermented with an old world yeast. Reddish brown in color with a mild hop profile, Consecrator is a well-balanced, full-bodied lager with hints of caramel and molasses in its smooth, malty finish after spending 3 months maturing in our fermentation tanks.

Bottle: Pours clear copper with a smooth tan head. Sweet caramel, vanilla aroma. Taste is sweet...caramel malt, syrup.....vanilla. Slightly boozy, but just a little heat, no alcohol bittering. Really tasty....

Old rating. Bottle from Old Town. Poured into a snifter. Dark mahogany brown with beige head that quickly dissipates. Light malt aroma (kind of underwhelming). Taste is malty with big dark/dried fruit bouquet: prune, black mission fig, currant and plum. Slightly boozy on the palate as well. Oily mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Fairly toasted sweet finish.

Pours light ruby-tinged mahogany into a stem glass. Tan head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Dark caramel and pit fruit aromas. Thick with sweet caramel and dark pit fruit and almost a little overripe banana front to back and into the warming finish. Yummy.

Tap. Pours clear orange, small of white head, minimal lacing. Aroma is caramel, nutty, apple, grape, sherry. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, fairly harshly acidic. Medium body, a bit of ABV burn. Interestingly, the harsh acidity that was so offputting initially fades with time. After 10 minutes or so in the glass this beer is much more drinkable, and actually a decent example of the style.

Decent. Pours clear mahogany without head or lacing. Some light coffee and dark chocolate. Light caramel aroma as well. Some nice pungence in finish that showcases the roast a little more. Tap at Churchkey.

Bottle (dated 2/10/14) poured into a tulip-style goblet. Pours a nice clear amber color with half a finger of off-white head that fades quickly. Aromas of caramel, sweet malt, sweet dark fruit. Tasting notes of sweet dark fruit including plums and figs, caramel, sweet malt, light booze. Medium carbonation, sticky and slightly thin mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a dry finish. I donβt drink a lot of doppelbocks but this is pretty nice!

2013 vintage bottle thanks to Queenholly. (Nearly a year old) Amber/ brown in color with fast vanishing head. Aroma is burnt sugar, caramel and a light yeast presence. This is a very straight forward Doppelbock. Flavor of is malt dominate with toffee, raisin, brown sugar/ molasses type note with the light yeast showing near the finish. The body is a tad bit thin but for the style itβs still a solid offering.
