Mother Kelly’s. Keg. Hazy amber beer, small white head. Palate is light and dry and crisp. Very dry. Minerals. Strong grapefruit bitterness, little floralness. Creamy malt, well buried. Finishes dry and fairly bitter. Rough edged but okay.

Cask at Beer Emporium, Bristol. It pours clear golden with a tiny white head. The nose is earthy, barnyard, apricot, peach, funk and wood. The taste is earthy, funky, mouldy wood, spice, soap, citrus peel, wet rotten leaf and dirt with a dry, funky finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Interesting for sure, but pretty soapy and mouldy....

On gravity, at the Hare, Bristol 23/5/2014. Slightly hazy amber, with a decent, off-white head. Peppery hops, with a hint of a floral edge, crisp, earthy malts and a touch of alcohol in the finish. Enjoyable.
