The pilser is a modern type of pilsner beer. Not in the way that it is a lot of hops or so, but it is a modern mix of German and Czech pilsner tradition. It is dry (not so sweet) like a German pilsner, but not herbal or clear. It is smooth and velvety like a Czech, but not “buttery” or sweet. It is brewed with a german style lager yeast.
The fermentation i the foeders, the big oak tanks, gives both character and taste to the beer. There is a “oak note” in the beer, that will vary depending on how long the beer have been on tank. It ads complexity to the beer and deepens the “palette” in taste. Also, the oak itself will give a vanilla tone.

On tap at Poppels Citybryggeri, pours a clear copper with a medium white head. Aroma has a nice oaky character, crisp grassy hops, and biscuity malt. Flavour has a very fresh oak character upfront, followed by biscuity malt and light grassy crispness. Really like the oak character here. Excellent house pils.

Fat @ Poppels Citybryggeri. Märkligt öl. Något bättre med mat till men annarssmakar det mer eller mindre billig ekad lager. Varför?

Nice pleasant and fine pilsner Not Czech standard. More to the German side. But where on earth did you fine those wild strawberries Thomas (Nisse666) Also a huge thanxxx to Richard for showing us around and get some samples of younger version of the same beer. Clear golden pour and a fine thick head. Looks fine Pleasant pilsner aroma Ok balanced sweetness and bitterness. Also a fine carbonation level. Easy and pleasant to drink Malty, herbal and mild citric flavor. Not much oak in my book [On tap @ source] Brewery #2482 Swedish brewery #238
