I have a 33 bottle acquired at Melger’s in Haarlem earlier today. Using the best available glass, I make the pour. I see a dark cola brown liquid finished by a thin ring of silver-tan bubbles. The nose is dark fruit with chocolate malt in the background. I get a taste considerably different from the smell. Scorched toast, malt, some hoppy bitterness, enough chocolate to be noticeable, a bit of dark plums and cereal. Not bad but not exciting. I do have to say this beer is better than the only other chocolate quad I’ve sampled previously.

3/VIII/24 - 33cl bottle @ home, BB: VI/2026 (2024-678) Thanks to Benzai for sharing the can!
Clear red brown beer, small creamy yellowish head, a little stable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: very yeasty, a bit malty, grains, ripe banana. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: a bit sweet, very malty, grains, a little bitter, soft roast, some chocolate, caramel. Aftertaste: bitter, dry, a bit spicy, yeasty, alcohol, sweet touch, sugary, ok but not great. I was definitely hoping for more chocolate.

Bottle shared at tasting. Brown color, small beige head. Aroma is quite faint. Flavor is malts, sweetish a bit. Hmm odd. Light chocolate but not too much and also an a-typical quadrupel.
