Named after a warlike tribe of ancient Britains, the Silures made a fierce resistance to the Roman conquest around AD 48. This powerfully hopped, beer is testament to their skill and strength of character. Brewed with sweet Caramalt and Maritime Spruce tips in the percolator, Silures delivers delicious tropical fruit flavours with a hint of pine needles. Robust and thoroughly rewarding.

Bottle: Poured a light amber color ale with a large off-white foamy head with very good retention and some excellent lacing. Aroma consists of huge floral hoppy notes with some citrusy and fruity hops. Taste is also dominated by huge green citrus notes and some light cereal malt notes. Body is about average with excellent carbonation. I did not have any significant expectation but this pale ale what just about world-class.

0,5L bottle, BB 12.08.2015. Pours murky golden with white head. The head stays, Aroma is caramel, pine, and tropical fruits. Taste is caramel, pine, berries, fruits, mango, and malt. Finish is long dry bitter. Overall: very nice.

Golden pour, large pillowy white head that lasts, good lacing, deep herbal and citrus hop aroma, caramel malt, pale malt. Flavor is bitter tea and citrus, hay and straw malt, some bready malt as well. Long bitter finish, carbonation is higher than expected, tough on the old palate.

Pours a light golden colour with lots of transparent tiny particles floating around. The foamy white head becomes soapy and leaves thick lace after going down slowly. Hoppy nose with pine cones, oranges and fruity malts. A slight dryness in the finish, but overall refreshing. Not crazy hoppy, but definitely present. A mix of fruity-citrus malts (grapefruit notes) and mild pine hints. A nice brew between an American Pale Ale and an IPA.

50 cl bottle, 4.6%, 2.70€. Dark gold color, almost clear with some particles. Big stable creamy head. Fuity perfume from orange and tropical fruit, with hops resins already. Aroma: blond malts with grapefruit, hints of caramel, biscuits, ginger and a whopping amount of bitter hops. Wild hops everywhere, taste intensely bitter. Fairly dry, crisp, raisiny and grainy finish. Medium bodied, oily texture. Loads of hops here, really bitter one, all packed in a ridiculous 4.6%. Possibly an entire 50 cl gets a bit difficult to get down, would fit better with some snacks maybe. 450 ratings so far, i think this is the bitterest one I encountered, amazing.

500ml Flasche. Ins Glas ergießt sich ein leicht trübes goldgelbes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr fruchtig süß, hopfig, malzig. Geschmack fruchtig hopfig, bitter, malzig.

500ml bottle from the LCBO. Pours a slightly hazy pale orange with a small off white head that fades quickly but laces well. Big floral and pine hop nose with melon and tropical fruit. Nice and bitter throughout with a minimal sweet malt background. Some vanilla notes in the middle and lots of grapefruit in the long dry finish. Medium slick mouth with active carbonation. Excellent.

50cl bottle at Rock Cafe, Tallinn. Pours clear golden with a lasting white head. Fruity and mild malty aroma with notable citrus, mild floral notes and hints of honey and pine. Moderate sweet and surprisingly flavourful and bitter. Delicious stuff. World is certainly moving forward when one can drink this instead of just the boring pale lagers at concerts. Me like!

Bottle from Oddbins. Hazy golden body with tiny yeast flecks floating around. Fluffy white head, light carbonation, great lacing. Aroma of apricot, orange and grapefruit. Lovely bitter flavour - grapefruit, minerals and blood orange. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. Top stuff. This is like Fyne Ales’ Hurricane Jack but with increased bitterness.

Bottle at home from Oddbins London Bridge. Clear golden colour with a lasting big frothy white head and sticky lace. Aroma is really nice delicate tropical fruit, passionfruit mango and little pale malt sweetness, honeysuckle. Flavour comprises of nice clean base malt with a touch of honey sweetness, rounded sweet berry, lemon hop. Assertive clean lingering grapefruit, grassy hops. good balance, the hop bitterness is maybe a little firm. Medium palate, medium sweetness and high carbonation.
