nice one, but i definitely had the thought all the way through that this seemed to be a weird, low abv abbey tripel, same flavor with the brett, spice, coriandor, etc. really good beer that was extremely enjoyable. not what i expected for a white ale however. maybe not the best as a first foray into the wit genre, this is better if you have enjoyed a few wits or tripels.

Palate was light bodied with quite high carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, sourness, tartness, citricness and mild bitterness. Aftertaste was sour and fruity.

Strong coriander, clove, and baby food aroma, a bit rubbery. It foamed out of the bottle upon opening. Hazy yellow, efferevescent, thick white lacing head. Tan flakes dance on the bubbles. Pleasantly tart lemon flavor, light coriander. Very enjoyable, quaffable, but otherwise unremarkable. Perhaps I l shouldn’t look for much else from this narrow style.

750 ml bottle. A bit dim, golden body with a big white head. Aroma has Bret, wheat, spices and yeast. Flavor is acidic, fruity and some kind of bitterness different to hop bitter. A very nice, a bit unusually and relatively quaffable beer.

Bottle, 75cl. A hazy, yellowish beer with a creamy, white head sitting on top. Citrusy, bretty nose, leaving most other scents in oblivion. Still, I really appreciate it. The flavor has a nice sourness, citrusy and a tad milky, with a citrus-peel bitterness coming strong towards the finish. And it stays for a good while too, the bitterness. Medium body, very effervescent. A quite lovely one. Rating: 7-4-7-4-15-3.7. 090720

Bottle, 22oz. It’s a clear, golden beer with a rocky off-white head leaving lacings. Citrusy-sour, grainy nose, rather funky. Citrusy flavor with grains, a fine bitterness and pleasant barnyard-ish and leathery flavor. Effervescent, medium body, tart. Citrus peel-like bitterness in the finish, with pale malts blending nicely in. A really fine beer. 090828

Location: Draft at Jimmy's 43, 9/14/09

Aroma: Classic citrus & spice nose of a Belgian white, but with a good amount of barnyard funkiness
Appearance: Hazy golden color with a bright white and kind of foamy head
Flavor: Nice sweet and tart flavors mixed in there, some funk, some spice, pretty tasty
Palate: This beer is rather fizzy, but without taking much away from a very nice mouthfeel
Overall Impression: I found this one to be quite interesting. I figured I'd give this a shot when I saw it, and I'm glad I did. Even though I'm not a huge fan of Belgian Whites in general, I surely found this one to be a really enjoyable beer, though at its price point, I probably won't drink it all that regularly, I will certainly enjoy it again in the future.

6/7/2009......Cloudy golden with orange tinges...creamy fluffy white head ((there was a ton of it in the bottle, i didn’t think it was going to stop))...spices and orange in the nose...clove and coriander--a nice mix ....delicate malts also......a rush of orange in the 1st sip, light yet a nice backbone....extremely refreshing..its zingy and goes well with "enjoying the day ladies".....a touch of sediment in the base of my glass....Flemish-esque---thanks for the share Kawabomber :)

Bottled, batch 365: Pours hazy golden with a creamy head. Sourish lemon aroma. Sourish grapefruit, lemon and coriander flavour, there might even be a touch of brett. IMHO there’s just a little bit too much coriander.
