A climb worthy of a reward. Spineback is a crisp and refreshing IPA with hints of stonefruit and peach.

Featuring heaps of hops, including Pahto and New Zealand’s Rakau, this one’s a real peach of a brew.

A new IPA from FBC that’s bright and flavourful, you’ll be reaching for it after a day on the trails.

Quite pale, medium head. Soft body, blackcurrant hops, blackberry, salmonberry, it’s a nice pocket but some more bitterness would help it pop because the malt is relatively light.

Hazy amber gold, white head. Nose of light fruit. Fruity with light malt mid and medium hop bitterness.

On tap at The Barley Merchant, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma has some earthy, almost sweaty hops, a touch of pine, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is moderately bitter, with some citrusy hops, light earthiness, and a dusty bready malt base. Dry, lightly bitter finish. Not the most expressive hops but reasonably constructed.

On tap at Barley Merchant. Pours hazy pale gold with a white head. Fermented malts on the nose. Flavour has pale citrus and some sort weird fermentation thing going on with the malts. Really not a fan.

473ml can. Pours a slightly hazy gold yellow with a medium, foamy, short lived, white head that leaves curtains of lace. Sweet fruity aroma of grainy wheat malt, peach, mango, orange and floral hops. Sweet fruity flavour of grainy wheat malt, apricot, peach, lime and light piney hops in a crisp, dry, mild bitter finish. Light to medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Juicy and and enjoyable.
