473mL can, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma is full of intense boubon barrels, followed by some perfumey floral hops, and a hint of roast. Flavour has been overtaken by the bourbon barrels in a nice way, relegating the hops and roast to second/third fiddle, but they're still there. For what it is, I'm happy with it.

16oz (thx, Chris S.!) @ Matt's house. Appearance: very dark brown with a nice dark beige head. Aroma: inky, hoppy, some oak. Taste: some meaty notes, oak, a bit creamy, roasted malts, some chocolate. Overall: interesting.

Dark brown. Thin head. The bourbon definitely comes out a lot on the aroma. On the palate, it has some toastiness, with a bit of bourbon. The bourbon definitely dominates. There isn't much hop character. Moderate bitterness, just enough to carry a 10.5% beer. The malt character isn't that bad, but it doesn't come together a lot...certainly the treatment doesn't do the base beer justice.
