[Bøgedal nr. 48] A reddish brown beer with a huge fluffy brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of roasted malt, caramel, spices, and hints of wood. The flavor is quite sweet with strong notes of spiced caramel combined with desert wine, like You’d find in Italian deserts, in the end in turns more towards cocoa powder, and roasted malt, but still with the sweetness in the background. The mouthfeel is very smooth and quite vinous. The end is just a bit dry. Sampled in September 2006, around 7 months after bottling, so it has had time to mature.

Bottled. (#48) 75cl champagne-cork. Cph Beerfestival. Dark amber with a huge dense, beige head. Roasted malt and hops in the aroma. Malty flavor with a light roastiness and some alcohol. Full-bodied and quite sweet. It has a dry finish with coffee-notes. Rating: 6-4-6-4-13-3.3(060519)
Rerate: Bottle, 75 cl corked. (#87) Unclear, brown pour with a nice, beige head. It was well carbonated, hence volcano-ing out of the bottle. Caramel, citrusy and piney hops in the aroma. The flavor has nice hops balancing the sweetness, and some spicyness in addition. Full body, with a little astringecy from the hops. Another lovely beer from Bøgedal. (rating: 7-4-7-4-15-3.7) Chosing to use the old rating, partially due to hating the use of batch-numbers instead of beer-names. (070601)
