Bottle at Aeon mall Kyoto. Served in a snifter. It pours a dark reddish brown with an ok beige head. Very much an amber looking ale. The nose is malty caramel, nice & appetizing. The beer is medium to full bodied with a nice smooth creamy mouthfeel. A solid biscuity amber ale with nice brown ale character.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear amber, small head. Salty and slightly roasty, light to medium bodied. Lightly bready or roasty that clears the sterile feel. Salty bitterish finish. Competent, but lacks soul.

Tap at the brewpub. Light amber color. Slight caramel aroma and flavor. Very light, with an overall dryness that comes not so much from hops as from a ack of sweetness. Decently made but uninteresting.

Amber with a tan head. Sweet aroma. Fruit, caramel malts, herbal, Very sweet flavor. The malts completely mask any sort of hops. A touch of toasted malt and some yeast that makes me think sake. Itβs not a bad beer at all, but very pedestrian.
