On tap @ the brewpub. Dark brown, almost black body with a fine, dense beige head. Gentle and delicate aroma of light roasted malt, citric fruit, toast and typical saison yeast. A bit surprising in flavor, a nice combination of saison and a light stout with the hop profile from American pale ale or even a hint of a black IPA. Still none of these and rather unique. Sweet light roasted malt, fruity hops, delicate yeast flavor and a rather dry bitterness. Medium body and a nice aftertaste with a same flavors fading out. Exiting and pleasant.

On tap at the brewpub. It pours a very dark brown body, next to black, and a small, creamy, beige head. Nice lacings too. The aroma has a delightful citrusy touch, grapefruit and some orange peel, as well as a roasted note, hints of liquorice and a yeasty note. It’s creamy and full-bodied on the palate, and quite bitter tasting. Some roasted malts, a hint of liquorice and medicine, some yeast and quite a lot of grapefruit. The bitterness lasts for a good while, kept company by roasted malts and a faint hint of liquorice, medicine and yeast. A really pleasant one, wasn’t hard to determine whether I’d have another one our not. 130107
