Pours reddish dark brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, dried fruits and blackberries. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long malty and blackberry finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle, 75cl corked. Was a bitch to crack open this one, the cork broke. But easily solved of course. It pours a clear-looking dark amber to reddish brown body and a small, dense, light beige head. The aroma has a berry touch, with some roasted malts and a hint of dried fruits. A bit anonymous, but sure nice. Be sure to spend some time sniffing and sipping, as it opens up and grows on you. There’s some chocolate too, and a faint cellar touch. The same goes for the flavor, it starts of a tad boring, but grows and grows, adding layers as you sip, even a little bitterness to deal with the sweetness. It’s sweet, but far from sticky. Full body, soft carbonation and a faint warmth. Lasting finish. The berries aren’t very evident, but sure there, with it’s soft acidity and dark fruityness. Anyway, this is most certainly the best blackberry beer I’ve had. 130810

Sample at Rogue Ales Distillery & Public House. This brew is a dark brown color with a thin dense off-white head that dissipates slowly. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, blackberry and oak. Full-bodied with flavors of roasted malt, blackberries, chocolate and a bit of boozy oak. The finish is rich and fruity with a blackberry aftertaste. Good overall.
