Sample at the Meadery. Clear amber color with a medium thick fluffy white head that recedes gradually. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of malt, fruit and honey. Light-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, honey and ripe fruit. The finish is sweet with a grainy malt aftertaste. Average overall.

Bottle. Pours crystal clear amber orange with a huge off white puffy head and nice lacing. Aroma is grain, caramel, honey. Flavor is light to medium sweet, caramel, honey, a bit of lime citrus. Minimal bitterness. Medium body, high carbonation. Not anywhere near as bad as the ratings.

Pours clear deep golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, corn and honeycorn. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with a honeycorn finish. Body is light to medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

On tap at the brewpub. It’s a clear, dark golden beer with an off-white head. The aroma reminds me of honey corn, with a little twist of caramel. Thin to medium body, dry on the palate, with honey corn all the way. Some bitterness though. Honey in the beers might be a good idea, in this one it’s just weird. 130808

Bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. A braggot that definitely leans to the beer side of things. Pours with a small white head that fades over an amber body. Aroma is sweet, honey, caramel and vinegar. Taste is bitter, straw, some alcohol and berries. Not good.

Bottle from Ray’s in Chico, CA. Pours hazy reddish amber with a foamy off-white head. Aromas of harshly roasted malt and honey. Medium body with lightly foamy carbonation. Hop is light, and the honey tends to dominate - but it’s lightly sweet, not sticky. Interesting take on an amber. Doubt this should be in the mead category. More like an amber category.
