On tap at Kick. A dense finger thick beige head leaves lacing over a murky brown body. Looking nice. The aroma is lightly berry sour, with nuts, chocolate and roasted malts. Some alcohol notes too, more evident in the flavor. Quite warming actually, full bodied but not extreme in any way. Very soft carbonation. The flavor is more sourish than the aroma suggests, with a light roasted touch and some coffee and nuts. Semi dry, with a lasting finish. A worthy celebration beer, tasteful and enjoyable. 151019

On tap @ Kick. Unclear, dark brown, almost black body with a medium sized, dense off-white head. Strong aroma of dark, gentle roasted malt, toast, dry fruit, anise and spicy Belgium yeast. Flavor is sweet malty, dry fruit, toast, some caramel, dry fruit, Belgium yeast, anise and moderate bitterness. Full bodied with a nice, long lasting aftertaste that almost feels a bit alcoholic towards the end, at least it gives a hot feeling. Very nice, if the ABV is correct it’s really impressive to give the impression of a barley wine with a Belgium twist at this low ABV. Sure a nice one anyway.
