Draught @ Christianssand Brygghus, Kristiansand
Pours hazy deep golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, orange, citrus, peach and hint of mango. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long slightly dry, caramel, orange, citrus and grape finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. A bit to sweet for my my liking of IPA’s but it has a nice hop aroma.

On tap at the brewpub. A dense, finger thick off-white head sits patiently on top of an unclear orange colored body. The aroma is more on the malty side than I prefer in an IPA, but it’s still the hops that play first fiddle. Some spiced hints lead my thoughts to rye malt, but it’s rather subtle. Orange peel, resins and some pale malts. Some not so pale malts too. It’s full bodied and nicely carbonated, quite dry. Oranges, pale malts, resins and a quite heavy bitterness. Some mango or other tropical fruit too. Lasting finish. Overall, not the best IPA from this brewery, but nice anyway. 150524
