Tap & the brewpub. Clear dark golden with a thin, lacing off-white head. Nice, fresh hoppy aroma with citric, grapefruit and mild caramel malt. Flavor feels refreshing fruity like aroma but has also a quite distinct malt base, mostly medium sweet caramel malt and OK bitterness. Fine balanced body and fruity bitter aftertaste with some caramel malt. Nothing outstanding or extraordinary but just a solid standard IPA.

On tap at the brewpub. Almost clear in the glass, topped by a small, dense, white head leaving lacing. The aroma is mostly on the hoppy side, with resiny notes doing most of the work, some grapefruit chiming in, and a caramel maltyness in the back. It’s full-bodied, smooth and nicely carbonated, with a soft bitterness. Mostly hoppy flavor too, more or less the same resins and grapefruits known from the aroma, and a light caramel maltyness as a backdrop. Not that it’s really caramel-ish, it’s mostly matly, but there’s a light caramel touch to it. Piney, grapefruity finish. In general I prefer more bitterness in my IPA’s, but it’s sure a tasteful and pleasant beer. 161226
