Vienna style amber lager. Traditional Bavarian Perle and Spalter hops and delicately coloured malts produce a deep copper coloured beer with a firm fruity caramel aroma, a smooth complex malt character and a long crisp clean finish. This beer is slow fermented and cold-matured over long periods to ensure perfect balance and gentle natural carbonation.

Dark brown with a small white head. Malty aroma with caramel and obvious presence of munich and vienna malts. Dry with a rich malty flavour.

Very thick-creamy yellowish head over dark amber beer. Cakey nose, thick malts, ambrée, caramel; quite rich and powerful nose; hints at orange(zeste) but generally quite sweet. Seems a bit of ureum too, but blending in the general complexity. Caramel flavour, not overly sweet, with some undistinguished hops, but mainly determined by very rich and selected malts of various colouring, making it way more complex than expected of a less than 5 ABV beer. Some burning in the MF, pretty thick texture without becoming porridge-y or overly sweet by too many restsugars. After some drinking, the Vienna characteristics establish themselves more clearly, but it remains a beer with some Barley wine aspirations; which does not prevent it from being very well made indeed.

Draught. Half pint served as Meantime Union at The Beer Wharf in London. Very nice dark brown in colour. Almost missing head. Roasted malty to the nose. Caramel maltiness in flavour gets support from a dash of dark fruits. Moderate to high carbonation level. Quite flavoursome dark lager (16.09.2006).

Keg at the Brew Wharf, London
Beautiful amber color; creamy head. Nice malty aroma, almost fruity. Medium body (less malty than expected), lacking any complexity, very simple final as well.

Keg at Brew Wharf, Borough. Always happy to go against the grain and so I find myself doing so on this one. Dark brown, chestnut colour, lasting light beige head. Really nice malty aroma with red fruits and toffee. These flavours carry on to the finish which is very drying and gives good balance to the toffee.
