Traditional Bavarian Perle and Spalter hops and delicately coloured malts produce a deep copper coloured beer with a firm fruity caramel aroma, a smooth complex malt character and a long crisp clean finish. This beer is slow fermented and cold-matured over long periods to ensure perfect balance and gentle natural carbonation.

From tap at Market Porter. Pours dark yet clear orange with a small diminished off-white head. Light roasted malty aroma. Flavour is citric and off. Acidic and off finish, not good. Re-rate needed.5-3-2-2-6=1.8

Bottle at Haket, Gothenburg. A clear, dark amber beer with a nice, beige off-white head. Grainy aroma with toffee. Grainy and sweet flavor with caramel and earthy hops. Medium body. Caramel and some cooked vegetables in the finish. Drinkable indeed, but a really boring beer. On the other hand, maybe the other beers I had the same afternoon messed it up. (080710)

Hazy dark amber with medium beige head. Swet aromaen with notes of roasted malt, dark fruits and caramel. Sweet flavor with notes of roa ted malt, caramel, plums and prunes.

[i] [b] Had this on tap at the Brewwharf pub, London 27-05-08 [/b] [/i] Pours dark amber in colour with good clarity, rapidly dissapearing white head. Tatse is initially quite malty some caramel and with some bitterness, its ok, there is some fruitiness there as well but all in all no great shakes.

(33 cl bottle at Haket, Göteborg) On April 23, 2008. Dark copper color, small white head. Stale sweet lager scent, also a bit fruity. Bitter, buttery, grainy, dry taste. Medium to full mouthfeel. Medium bitterness. Quite boring. I feel like the guy on the label, rather plain and bored, when drinking this.

Draught @ Greenwich Union, Greenwich, London SE10, UK. Clear medium red brown color with a average to large, frothy / creamy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, chocolate. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long to average duration. (Malt bitternes) Body is medium to light, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. (301207)

Medium beige head. Deep dark red body. Sweet malty licorice aroma. Dry-sweet delicate roasty licorice malt taste with fruity notes. Very clear, distinct roasty notes in the taste, these are really what makes the beer. Sweet roasty malt aftertaste. (0.5pt draft at Greenwich Union.)

(Draught at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 10 Aug 2007) Dark brownish colour with ruby notes, brief beige head. Malty nose with chocolate and dried fruit (raisins, prunes). Malty taste with notes of dried fruit, chocolate, balanced malt sweetness and some spicy bitterness in the finish. Actually quite good try at the vienna style.

Draught. Dark rubyish brown colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma is strong caramel, big malts and some hops. Flavour is herbs, malts some anis and hops. Quite out of balance and hard to place into a style.
