Vienna style amber lager. Traditional Bavarian Perle and Spalter hops and delicately coloured malts produce a deep copper coloured beer with a firm fruity caramel aroma, a smooth complex malt character and a long crisp clean finish. This beer is slow fermented and cold-matured over long periods to ensure perfect balance and gentle natural carbonation.

0.33l bottle. The Union pours a clear dark coppery body with a medium bubbly off-white head. Aroma is dark malty with notes of wet old grass and leafs, thin chocolate paper, light yeast and some really ripe plums and dark burned caramel. Average carbonation, medium to light-bodied and it has a oily mouthfeeling. Tastes dark malty with some thin caramel and it has an unfortunate metallic and burned aftertaste. Can't see how this has won any awards..

Bottle: Almost clear, small stable off-white head, copper to amber coloured; dry dark-malty to roasty nose, suppressed hops detectable; light to moderate dry bitter flavour, light bodied; hints of bitter-chocolate in the relatively short bitter and dark-malty finish, followed by a hoppy tail. Good......

(bottle, 33cl) Clear, amber colour with a beige medium-sized foamy head. Moderately sweet and toasted cara-malty aroma with subtle fruity notes and herbal hops. Mildly bitter and sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a crisp mouthfeel. Slightly ashy caramel-malty taste with a tinge of dark fruits and herbal accents; dry-ish moderately bitter and slightly hoppy finish with nutty notes in the aftertaste. 09.IV.11

Bottle. Pours a mostly clear, light amber with a supple, just barely off-white head. Sugar and grain malt aroma. Nice flavor. Fairly sweet to start, with caramel, then some lightly toasted malts, followed by mild earth bitterness. Perhaps some toffee and maple syrup. Medium in body with average carbonation. Finish is crisp and clean, indeed, with lingering malts and faint metal.

Bottled. An amber beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and a bit of butterscotch, leading to a dry bitter finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a clear amber with a dense off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt and a little caramel. Medium body, sweet caramel and a clean and decent maltiness. A little hops in the finish. Good and straight. 230310

18th September 2008. Tasting at the brewery. Darkish gold beer. Malty bready lagerish. Crisp palate. Just a touch of hops in the finish. Inoffensive.

From a 330ml bottle on 29/12/2009. Dark brown/reddish in colour, with almost no head. Smells of caramel and toffee, tastes the same - quite sweet, with some chocolate notes, and an almost lemony finish, with a touch of bitterness. An interesting drop, if not remarkable.
