2/IV/18 - 12Fl. Oz. bottle from a trade, shared @ my parents' place - BB: V/9/19 (2018-334) Thanks to Alengrin for the trade!

Clear ruby to purple brown beer, small creamy yellowish head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: some dried fruits, caramel, banana, soft roast, malty, some chocolate. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: malty start, some vanilla, soft roast, caramel, lots of dried fruits, some alcohol, bitter touch, lots of chocolate. Aftertaste: cocoa powder, sweet notes, alcohol, more chocolate and dried fruits. Nice. Glad I gave this one a bit of time to age and get better (I think).

Flaska från belgiuminabox. Mahognyfärgade med högt krämigt skum. Mycket torkad frukt, alkoholvärme, mörkt socker, bröstkarameller och en liten kryddig ton av bittra örter. Funkar perfekt till en semla.

F: big, pale tanned, average retention. C: dark, opaque. A: dark fruits, bit vinous, dried plums, figs, candy sugar, banana, bit yeasty. T: dark malts, dark dried fruits, bit vinous, chocolate, cocoa, plums, banana, juniper alcohol, bit spicy, bit yeasty, not as complex as I expected but still fully enjoyable beer, full body, medium carbonation, 33cl bottle from Bierwinkel De Hopduvel in Gent.

Bottle. Color: Dark ruby, fast disappearing beige head. Taste: Roasted malt, butterscotch notes of nuts and raisins, brown sugar. Mix of medium sweet and medium hopbitter notes, overall the sweetness dominates. Ample signs of alcohol. Medium body, slightly above average carbonation. Pretty easy drinkable quadrupel for the crowd. Missing some body and excitement.

Pours mahogany tinged deep brown into a Trappist glass. Tan pancake head with good retention recedes leaving sheet lacing. Chocolate covered pit fruit aromas. Dry with sweet raisins and prune upfront turning to bitter twigs, nutmeg, pepper and molasses in the warm, lasting finish.
