33cl bottle from Sip, Tallinn. Pours dark mahogany coloured with a beige head. Malty and fruity with notes of dark dried fruits, Belgian yeast and caramel. Medium sweet with medium flavour intensity and a balanced bitterness. Carbonation more lively than expected, but still not disturbing. Quite smooth, desserts and enjoyable.

Bottle from Beautiful Beers, drunk at home. Dark brown and translucent with a small ring of beige head. Amazing aroma: yeasty bread, raisins, cooking chocolate, oak, tangerine peel. There's so much here. Taste is surprisingly bitter with intense cocoa bitterness on the back of the tongue. Finish is sweeter with raisins and plums, brandy, kumquat peel, cinnamon. Medium carbonation. An amazing find.

12 oz bottle poured, picked up at Hop and Hound. Not my usual brew type that I pick up from my mega local brew spot, but this one intrigued me right away. Pours jet black, plenty of cream foam head and lacing. Aroma has nice notes of dried fruit, raisin, prune. Bold flavors of bran like malt, dark fruit. Warming quad, full of a layered flavor, but doesnt seem too big or overpowering in any way. Would love to throw this into a blind with other Trappist ales. Very nice

So I have to go through a Belgian retailer to get an American quadrupel? The logic in that? The 33 cl bottle will tilt into my Chimay glass posthaste. I see a dark caramel brown topped with a superb head of medium tan foam. And the nose is inviting, ripe fruit and meadow. The payoff drink, quite nice. Figs, wheat bread, malt, some chocolate and red plum. I get an impression of Pannepot, just not to that level.

Rocky off white head stayed all the way in a rich mahogany coloured still body. Malt, chlorine & raisin aroma. Medium to full bodied, smooth on the tongue with a soft back. Heavy malt, spices raisin, berry, Christmas cake & boozy tastes. Very tasty.

Bottled. A very dark brown beer with a lazing tan head. The aroma has notes of candy sugar, yeast, dried fruits, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of candy sugar, prunes, raisins, yeast, malt, and hints of alcohol, leading to a dry finish.
