Pours clear deep amber with a beige head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, toffee, alcohol, biscuit, hint of apple and rye bread. Taste is heavy sweet and light to medium bitter with a long warm, caramel, toffee, cocoa, chocolate and bread finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat.

Tap @ Søgaards. Clear dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, dried fruit and alcohol. Flavor is very sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet and moderate bitter finish with warming alcohol. Sticky. 010516

On tap at the brewpub. Almost clear in the glass, deep chestnut colored and with some beige bubbles on top. The aroma has brown sugar, caramel and toffee in abundance, with leather, cigar notes, licorice and maple syrup. Some dark rye bread and cocoa. It’s full bodied, sweet and lightly warming, with lots of dark flavors, perhaps a bit more licorice focused than the aroma. Some booze too. Lasting finish. This could easily be sold as a liqueur. Søgaards Bryghus 130416. Dark brown colour with a tan head. Aroma is caramel, alcohol, raisin, dried fruits. Flavour is caramel, malt, alcohol, fruit, raisin, dried fruits. Full body. Nice beer.

From tap. Pours hazy dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is dense malty, minerals and roasted. Sweet, minerals and dark malty. Bitter, toasted and mineral, dark malty into the finish.
