Tap @ Håndtverkeren, Kristiansand during brewmasters dinner with Qvart. Pitch black body with a moderate seized, good lacing beige head. Strong aroma of dark, good roasted malt, quality coffee, dark chocolate and hint of vanilla. Flavor is strong and bold like aroma with the same ingredients, dark, smooth roasted malt, dark chocolate, good strong, bitter coffee, vanilla and solid but balanced bitterness. The high alcohol feels warming but not boozy. Fine, full bodied with a long lasting aftertaste. This is for sure a great Imp. Stout with good balance and high drinkability even served this fresh. Looking forward to see this develop in barrels for some months.

Nice plain solid imperial stout without any fuzz. Breweries tend to put everything into this gem these days. So if you want a good “old” fashioned impey. That is just an imperial stout. Go for this one.
Black (surprise) with a fine beige head. Dark chocolate and espresso aroma. Good intensity. Full body and a mellow carbonation level. Pleasant and easy to drink. Coffee, roast, chocolate and espresso in the flavor. Ok lasting tail and a pleasant balanced sweetness. No sticky alcohol coming up.

On tap. An unclear close to black beer topped by a nice looking tan head leaving lacing. Roasted malts, some coffee, a good dash of chocolate, some bread, burnt malts and alcohol in the aroma. It's full-bodied, smooth and with some warmth and a nice carbonation level. Quite sweet on the palate, with roasted malts and chocolate running the show. Dark bread crusts, burnt malts, hints of burnt down bonfire in a non-smoked way, coffee and alcohol in the flavor. Lasting roasted malts and dark chocolate finish. A quite rough imperial stout, guess it will be much smoother in some months, especially after some time on the barrels where most of the beer went, but I loved the roughness and flavor profile. Very nice to have a classic Imperial Stout without shitloads of lactose and vanilla and whatnot. 180303
