Tap @ Haandverkeren. Pitch black body with a small beige head. Strong and slightly boozy (in a nice way) aroma. Roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, dry fruit, vanilla, wood and warming, vinous alcohol. Flavor is strong, rich and smooth like aroma – dark roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, dry fruit (raisins), wood, vanilla, balancing bitterness and warming alcohol. Full bodied and long lasting aftertaste that feels sweet and warming. A very nice imp. Stout where the sweetness has a fine balance against the dry wood, bitterness and alcohol. Smooth.

Bottle. It pours a dark brown to black body and a minimal sized tan head. Rather oily pour. The aroma has roasted malts, toffee, dark chocolate hints, salty licorice, some booze and some Turkish Pepper candy. It's quite sweet on the palate, full-bodied, with a light boozy warmth, lots of licorice and roasted malts. Coffee hints, toffee, some dark chocolate and a vague hint of prunes. Lasting finish. I guess this one would benefit from some cellaring, but it's still a fine brew. 190216
