Bottle at home. The colour is dark brown with a big beige head. Aroma of figs, sweet cake, milk chocolate, bread, caramel, liqour and anise. Flavour of leather, bread crust, game meat, caramel and anise. Has a slightly soft and slick mouth feel, medium to heavy body and a medium bitterness. Rich and tasteful.

Sjøen 061023. Dark brown color with a beige head. Aroma is yeast, bread, caramel. Flavor is yeast, caramel, bread, wood, licorice, vanilla, toffee, coffee. OK beer.

Bottle. An almost clear dark brown beer with a small light beige head. The aroma is lightly boozy, with lots of caramel, some roasted malts and dried fruits, licorice, some vanilla and diacetyl, toffee, some vanilla and coffee and a hint of dark dried fruits. It's full-bodied and warming, semi-sweet and softly carbonated, with a decent sweetness. Booze, toffee, licorice, some dried fruits and wood, hints of vanilla and diacetyl, with caramel, brown sugar and some coffee in the flavor. Lasting finish. A bit messy this one, lots of interesting flavors though. 211229

Bottle. Clear dark brown, practically black body under a one finger thick tan/beige head. Aroma of dark malt, coffee, Bourbon and vanilla. Taste is smooth, sweet dark malt, medium roasted, dry fruit, chocolate, coffee, Bourbon, vanilla, hint of wood and moderate bitterness. Balanced body and rather long lasting aftertaste. Not super complex, but well made and balanced. Not too sweet and not too boozy but distinct Bourbon. Enjoyable.
