Bottle. Earthy, lightly funky orange malt and grapefruit peel/pine aroma. Cloudy golden yellow with large off-white head. Sweet orange malt flavor quickly overwhelmed by strong bitter metallic grapefruit peel. Decent body. A bit rough.

Very hazy golden coloured body with a honey glow and a thinnish, half centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of alcohol, resin, pine, floral hops, turpentine, honey, oak, dry grass and a bit more alcohol - pungent, for sure. Full-bodied; Strong rich malty flavour with a definite pine and deep grassy hop note showing a lot of alcohol, some warm sugars and a rather dry and oaky finish showing some barrel in the mix. Aftertaste is quite complex, especially for the style with the dryness front and centre, also with a good deal of alcohol, malt, yeast and of course, hops. Overall, a nice Imperial IPA with a solid profile and even nicer complexity on the end. Great to sample, and perhaps still good to age! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Crystal City Wine Shop (12th Street Location) on 28-November-2014 for US$11,99 sampled at home in Washington just a few steps away on 15-October-2015.
